INTRINSICALLY SAFE LASER SYSTEMS FOR COAL MINING

    The SLX-635P, is a small Class 2 alignment laser system which has been manufactured and supplied under compliance for more than 10 years. The SLX-635P has the following features :

  • Less than 1mW output at 635nm, the most cost effective visible output in Class 2.
  • Proprietary laser beam alignment mechanism using orthogonal set screws and a locking screw, based on spherical bearing alignment.
  • Hexagonal shape for simple beam alignment check using body geometry.
  • Isolated laser diode component
  • Unique Automatic Power Control (APC) laser power regulation based on proprietary circuitry
  • Miniature laser control circuits (10.5mm diameter) using potted and encased surface mount technology.
  • Reverse battery protection which prevents any connection if batteries are inserted incorrectly.
  • Uses standard alkaline "AA" batteries for convenience
  • Long battery lifetime.
  • Simple rotary on/off switch with nylon-tipped set screw lock to prevent removal underground.
  • Protective laser lens output window head, with magnetic attachment and securing set screw. Can be replaced by optional laser line projector or 90 degree splitting prism assembly.
  • Embedded NiFeB magnets for simple attachment to fixtures underground.
  • Spirit level for level alignment
  • Safety information engraved into Zn-plated brass body for permanent labelling


The SLX-635P is manufactured under an exclusive OEM agreement for Stott Industrial Supplies of Newcastle, NSW. All communications regarding sales and service should be placed through Stott Industrial Supplies.A new product, the BLX-635, is currently under compliance certification following a lengthy development cycle. This product is a larger version of the SLX-635P, with a 20mm diameter beam of 5mW output at 635nm wavelength (red), which provides an intrinsically safe and laser safe product for extra-long tunnelling applications. Again, this product will be manufactured under an exclusive OEM agreement with Stott Industrial Supplies, and any enquiries should be put tho them.
